Workshop with Kirsten Agar Ward

Kirsten endeavours to pass on the teachings of BKS lyengar and his family. Her aim is to teach the deeper meaning of yoga. She is also interested in lndian philosophy and mantra. She took up lyengar Yoga in Adult Education classes after leaving university in 1988 and soon realised that it offered a more complete analysis of the human condition than Western Psychology.

Kirsten studied at the Ramamani lyengar Memorial Yoga lnstitute in Pune, lndia in February/March this year 2017, which was one her many and frequent visits there.

Qualified to teach at lntermediate Senior level lll, Kirsten is an approved teacher trainer and assessor for IY(UK). Teaching workshops in the UK and internationally, Kirsten was the guest teacher for the 2012 Swedish National lyengar Yoga Convention. Kirsten’s professional background is in psychology – she gained her honours degree in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University in 1987 followed by a PGCE, a few years as a school teacher, and a successful career as a  Chartered Educational Psychologist. Kirsten runs the Bath lyengar Yoga Centre together with her husband Richard.
